NRLC Committed to developing conservators and restorers for the country through training and to educate professionals working in museums, archives, libraries, archaeological departments and others responsible for stewardship of collections. Separate training institute has been setup in 2011 dedicated for training and skill development in conservation as “NRLC Training Institute” situated at Jankipuram, Lucknow.
UNESCO had long back recognized NRLC as training centre for conservation professionals from South and South East Asian countries and several have been trained. Training program in association with the International Centre for Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, Rome (ICCROM) and other international bodies are held at NRLC.
NRLC runs regularly six month training course every year and short term specialized workshop and refresher courses for practicing conservators, restorers and workshops on care and maintenance of collections for curators and others.
With new sprawling campus housing training institute, hostel cum guest house, 250 capacity auditorium of NRLC came up in 2013 at Jankipuram, Lucknow. The activities of training have been increased many folds.
